The Story

During the summer of 2023, a member of Grace proposed the idea to the Grace council to house an asylum-seeking family in our building. Following many meetings, discernment, and planning, the Grace community overwhelmingly voted in favor of housing a migrant family on Sunday, November 5th, 2023.

In partnership with Faith Community Initiative, Grace is housing an asylum-seeking family and will support them with all of their immediate needs as they await their work permits. Initially, we are committed to housing this family for one year.

Grace is a congregation of justice seekers who are not scared to get their hands dirty while working for the liberation of all of God's beloved children. We are a small but scrappy group!

How You Can Help

Since we are a small and scrappy group, we need support from our neighbors, colleagues, and friends. We are still determining all of our areas of need and will keep this site updated. For now here are our main areas of need and how you can help:

  • Sign up  to volunteer your time
  • Donate! Funds- donations to the New Neighbors fund will be used to make needed property repairs, support the daily living expenses of the family, and help fund their legal asylum process.
  • Donate via the Amazon Wishlist

Thank You!

Thank you for helping us support and welcome our new neighbors.
