We love having our children in worship.  They bring the kingdom of God through their presence.

However, given the needs of some of our parents we are trying a new model of Sunday School at Grace.

Shortly after the Greeting on Sunday the pastor calls up the children (ages 3-10) for a short prayer, and they then process out to their classes.

Sunday school consists of 25-35 minutes of activities and stories based on the lessons for the day. Our children do not miss out on worship so much as they receive a more age-appropriate spirit of the lessons.

All children and teachers re-join the assembly at the Sharing of the Peace. Children are welcome to assist with the offering, bring up the elements to the table, and receive communion as full members of the body of Christ. If parents prefer a blessing at communion, that is of course provided.

Confirmation class runs from October 2008 through May of 2009.

This is designed to be a two year course for our middle schoolers. This year, we will be focusing on the Small Catechism. We have dinner together, then classes. Parents take an active role in the faith education of their children in our program (this is why classes are every other week), reading the scriptures together and in discussion.

Students in confirmation also acolyte during worship.

Please contact Pastor Daniel here for more information, and to coordinate schedules.

The Grace Youth Group meets from September 2008 through May of 2009, with a planned youth trip every summer. This summer the youth plan to do a YouthWorks trip with the confirmation students.

The Grace Youth are participating in this year’s CROP walk, as well as planning other service activities in the area.

This last summer the Grace Youth went on a trip with five other young adults on a

Civil Rights Tour and Mission Trip. Click here to find out more.
